Zero Waste Week

Zero Waste Week was an initiative to close the 1st year of the ACADEMIA LIXO ZERO project (Zero Waste Academy), financed by Lisbon City Council - BIPZIP 2019. In the week from October 13th to 17th, as part of the Umundu Festival, ZWL offered a diversified program of activities with the objective of promoting the Zero Waste concept and contributing to sustainability and the transition to a future without waste.

This was intended to be a moment of community and inclusive participation, open to the city, celebrating each day one of the R(s): Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Regenerate.

Program:

October 13th:

- Immersive Hiking - Water as element of union.

October 14th:

- Get Your Hands Dirty: Natural Cosmetology;
- Non-Disposable Conversations: Community and Policy Strategies for the City

October 15th:

- Materials Life Cycle: Where Do They Come From and Where Does Everything We Consume Go TO?;
- Jornalism in Ecological Activism, with Catarina Canelas;
- Pedagogical Guide Presentation - Escola Lixo Zero.

October 16th:

- What is Zero Waste? Composting Workshop.

October 17th:

- Zero Waste Cities - Non-Disposable Conversations;
- Celebrating - Market Presence Umundu Festival.
