REVESTE Lisboa 

The REVESTE Lisboa project aims to promote an economy of proximity, strengthen the relationship between consumers (citizens in general), the exchange of needs and the search for sustainable solutions in the use of clothing and textiles.

The first phase of the project corresponds to the creation of a second hand clothes shop in Marvila, and during the project, participative sessions will be developed between the partners and the community, for involvement in the integral creation of a cooperative, the second part of the project, from conception to dynamisation.

The 3 cornestones of the project:

- Circular and Solidarity Economy
- Social Inclusion
- Environmental Monitorisation

The main approaches of the project are:

Creation of a 2nd Hand Store - Future Cooperative. 

- Transform and improve consumption patterns, save money and improve the household economy.
- Inclusion in the active life of people at risk of exclusion, taking part in the daily tasks of the future Cooperative, such as shop attendance, stock management, communication, markets and street selling.
Ativating the Community. 

- Personal and technical training workshops for the area.
- Technical training workshops on sewing and creative clothing transformation.
- Community participation sessions.
- Marvila LabCheck sessions.
- “Pop-up REVESTE Lisboa” Map.

Environmental Impact Measurement. 

- Creation of an environmental impact calculator.

Communication and Dissemination. 

- Creation of Marvila LabCheck, a place for the creation of communication contents focused on fact checking and clarification about the textile industry.
- Content agency.
- Presence at local markets and fairs.

Impact of the Project in 2023/2024:

- Second-hand cooperative, which contributes directly to boosting the local and micro-territorial economy;
- Example of a cooperative/project to be replicated in other territories at national level;
- Raise awareness of the circularity of textiles and the impact of their disposal.

This project is supported by Municipality of Lisbon BIPZIP2022 Programme , Junta de Freguesia de Marvila, AGIR XXI e reCloset, and in partnership with Salvation Army-  Pica-Pau Project.
